Search public motor-carrier data
Public lookups use configured, allowlisted providers only. TorzFreight is not a government service.
TorzFreight is an independent business tool that displays available public information for convenience. It is not FMCSA or another government agency, does not independently certify public records, and users should verify material facts with the authoritative source before making business decisions.
Freight Broker Check, MC Number & USDOT Lookup
Use Torz Freight to search available public motor-carrier information by USDOT number, MC or docket number, or company name.
The lookup can help carriers identify the company associated with a public record and review available information such as legal name, DBA name, operating status, location, power units, drivers and the most recently available MCS-150 information.
Torz Freight does not independently certify a broker or carrier. Material facts should always be confirmed with the appropriate official FMCSA source before booking freight or entering a business relationship.
Search by MC number, USDOT number or company name
The search box above supports several common ways to identify a trucking company or freight counterparty.
USDOT number lookup
Enter a USDOT number when you already know the company's Department of Transportation identifier. This is generally the most direct way to locate the corresponding public company record.
MC or docket number lookup
Enter an MC or docket number when that is the identifier provided on a rate confirmation, company profile or other business document.
Company name search
If you do not know the USDOT or docket number, search using the company name. When multiple possible records are found, Torz Freight can present candidates so you can select the appropriate company.
What can the Torz Freight lookup show?
When the configured public source provides the information, a lookup may display:
- USDOT number
- MC or docket number
- Legal company name
- DBA name
- Entity or organization type
- Operation type
- Reported operating status
- Physical location
- Mailing location
- Reported power units
- Reported drivers
- MCS-150 date
- Public data source and retrieval status
Availability depends on the underlying public dataset. A missing value is displayed as unavailable rather than guessed or invented.
What this lookup does not prove
Finding a company record does not automatically mean that every authority, insurance, bond, trust, safety or business-status requirement has been independently verified.
Torz Freight intentionally does not fabricate unavailable authority or insurance information. The public record should be treated as one part of your counterparty review process.
When a SAFER verification link is available in the result, use it to continue checking the company through the official FMCSA resource.
Why checking a freight counterparty matters
Before accepting a load, carriers should make sure the company they are dealing with matches the business identity presented in load documents and communications.
Checking identifiers such as the USDOT number, MC or docket number, legal name and location can help you notice obvious mismatches before progressing further.
Public-data research should be combined with your own business verification procedures and official sources when deciding whether to work with a broker, carrier or other freight counterparty.
Check the company before evaluating the load
Counterparty verification is only one part of deciding whether a freight opportunity makes sense.
After reviewing the company information, use Torz Freight's load calculators to evaluate the rate, operating cost, deadhead and estimated profitability.

MC and USDOT lookup questions
Can I search by MC number?
Yes. Enter the MC or docket number into the public search field. Torz Freight will query the configured public data source and display available matching information.
Can I search by USDOT number?
Yes. A USDOT number provides a direct identifier for locating the corresponding available public company record.
Can I search using only a company name?
Yes. Company-name searches may return more than one possible match, so confirm the USDOT number, location and company details before assuming you have selected the correct business.
Does Torz Freight certify that a freight broker is safe?
No. Torz Freight displays available public information for planning and research convenience. It does not independently certify a broker, carrier or other company.
Is the information real-time?
Not necessarily. Public results may be cached, and the underlying government dataset itself may have reporting or publication delays. The result shows retrieval information where available.
What should I do if information is missing?
Do not assume that a missing field means the requirement does or does not exist. Continue verification using the appropriate official FMCSA resources or other authoritative sources.
